Marijuana
There's a lot of question over weather weed should be legalized or kept illigal. I think that it is a lot safer than cigarettes which keep in an unconsious addictive high for life. I don't think it would be such a big deal if it just grew from the ground in nature, but when we put a boundry infront if it, it almost motivates people to around that boundry to get it... similar to when you tell a kid not to eat sugar, and so he thinks about sugar more and craves it more than he would if you hadn't mentioned it at all. I think education has to replace addiction of all forms and that if kids were properly educated, there wouldn't be a problem with drugs. Also historians tell us that "magic mushrooms" are the reason why human's evolved as far as they did, so I think they are also just a natural life form that grows from the ground, and we shouldn't discriminate against it just because of it's mind stimulating properties if ingested. If we're going to do that then might as well make cigarettes, alcohal, radio, TV, banners and other advertising, all illigal too.
Gay Bashing, Racism, and other Ignorant Hate
These are obviously problems that people shouldn't be dealing with. It's like name calling on the play ground. I wonder what it will take for people grow up? And I think that a lot of dogs aren't too old to learn new tricks but puppies sure learn faster. What I mean is kids need to learn what's acceptable so they don't have to later unlearn their bad habits.
Poverty
Homelessness, prostitution, crime, vandalism and unhealthy lifestyles are all caused by poverty. Minimum starting wage is $6/hour in B.C. How can we expect people to work for pennies without our cities inheriting 3rd world conditions. It's obvious that people are too poor. It's obvious that politicians make way too much money, and it's obvious that homeless people need food, shelter and jobs so they can get back on their feet again. Not much else to say on that subject, it's all pretty common sense. Give a guy bread and he's fed for a day, Teach him how to make bread and he'll feed a family. That means giving people the resources to be self sufficient, not forcing them to rely on your scraps. |
