Plan Summery
Democracy
I will give citizens the power to decide what happens in their communities and city. Citizens are free to submit issues and topics of concern which will be addressed and prioritized at weekly discussions. By doing this, I think there is a potential to eliminate all the problems in our city. (More/Discuss)
Municipal Alliance
Create an Alliance with municipalities with which we can share resources, idea's and knowledge to make our communities more technologically dynamic, safe and prepared for a disaster of any size. With this, we can relax more with the confidence of knowing we are part of a well organized network. (More/Discuss)
Disaster Plan
We need to take immediate action to upgrade our district so it can be ready for a range of potential disasters. As soon as we are aware of a disaster situation, Allied Cities will be notified and they will execute the appropriate disaster protocol. In the event of a disaster such as a Tsunami or Cyclone, public transportation will be sent to pre-determined public and residential locations while the radio and TV stations notify Lower-mainland residence of a full-out evacuation. Emergency response teams of police and firefighters will assist hospital patients and seniors as allied cities get food and shelter ready for us. Lives will be saved due to the swift and organized actions we take to get everyone inland and away from danger.

A toxic waste spill is another type of disaster that could devastate our natural environment if we're unprepared. This could have devastating effects on our ecosystem and food chain for many years, and that is why it's very important to be prepared. (More/Discuss)
Public Sanitation
It an effort to maximize the cleanliness of our city, more Public Washrooms, Showers and Water Fountains will be installed, as well as a thorough sanitation of existing facilities and other public places which are of concern potentially due to their high volume of traffic. (More/Discuss)
Drug Problem
It's not as easy getting an addict to give up their lifestyle as it is to properly educate the new generations who aren't hooked on anything yet. Likewise it's very hard to help someone who doesn't want to help themselves. That's why need to ensure kids understand the seriousness of this issue so they make the right decision to prevent this problem from continuing before they start.

As for existing addicts, the "Safe Needle Injection Site" will be turned into a "Walk-in Detox / Work Ready" so addicts can treat themselves to a healthy breakfast that'll help flush their system out and work for minimum wage doing jobs like cleaning the filthy alleys that are littered with regularly used as toilets. (More/Discuss)
Employment
If we expect people to get work then they need to be paid what their worth. The 500 hour pre-requisite to minimum full-time wage needs to be abolished and pay needs to be raised to $10/hour as an incentive for people to start working. Fresh school students and graduates should be exempt from paying income tax for 2 years so they can build a foundation that will support them in their future.
Economy
Right now our economy is slumping. Businesses are facing ridiculously high property taxes that are just wasted by the current municipal government; regulations are burdening business owners and discouraging them to stay in our district. I will make it a priority to learn the obstacles that growing businesses deal with to I can create a better business climate. Taxes need to be lowered and government spending needs to be controlled. Regulatory burden needs to be done away with by revoking obsolete regulations, simplify existing ones, and forming mutual recognition agreements for permits and licenses conferred in neighboring municipalities. Also I'd like to see the Vancouver Stock Exchange open up again to attract investors to our part of the world.
Environment
We are a 20th into the 21st century, and technology is more readily available than ever before, yet we are still on the same path of self destruction which can quickly and easily be corrected. The carbon, sulfur, and nitrogen pollution from machinery can all be minimized to make the air quality less of a challenge to maintain. Hemp is extremely beneficial, not only because it is so versatile and can replace many environmentally unfriendly industries but also because it can actually repair the damage to air which we all rely on to breath. As humans living on Earth, our survival depends on nature's eco-system so it's only logical that we take the responsibility to protect it. There are many things we need to consider, like how different chemicals react after they're released into the environment through our landfills and waste water; and how we can minimize or reverse damage by incorporating new technology with our old systems to processed harmful toxins.
Natural Heritage
Our Natural resources like those from Wreck Beach to Stanley Park and across to North Van will all be preserved for future generations to admire and because of the image they give the City of Vancouver, which is a huge representative of "Beautiful British Columbia"
Police Clean-up
As a victim of police brutality and having heard countless other stories of similar instances, I'm making it a priority to weed out the bad cops in our city so we can have more respect for our police force and give them more trust with our safety. There shouldn't be anyone being found dead due to the City Police or RCMP. I don't understand how there can be so many reports of beatings, brutality and relatively innocent people being found dead in police stations. Those responsible must face punishment for their crimes, even if they are members of our law enforcement.
Equality & Civil Rights
The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is a hallmark of our country stating that everyone is equal. I was recently made aware of outstanding issues regarding gay bashing, and racism against people with accents. Things like these are plagues that are destroying our Canadian image which many have worked so hard to build and protect. If we are to live in peace then there shall be no hate or discrimination of any kind in our society. We as humans are all part of a collective and if we are to evolve as a collective then we must see through our petty differences to realize we are the same in many more ways. (More/Discuss)
Highways
The money from the Coquihalla goes into 'General Revenue' and isn't even kept track of. Apparently they don't know how much money they've made from it, yet it was only intended to be there until the cost of the highway's construction was paid off. It's ridiculous how plans are made and never followed through properly. Obviously the Coquihalla Hwy has paid for itself numerous times meaning there is a surplus of funds in 'General Revenue' that's available to use on highways that suffer from rush-hour jams and the Sea-to-Sky Hwy to ensure better safety for our drivers and tourists once the Olympics are here.
Schools
The schools curriculum from kindergarten to grade 12 needs to be much more up to date. Knowledge advances every day yet some textbooks haven't been updated since the 80's. Schools should also teach more for analytical thinkers as opposed to just the mainstream left brain fashion which is limiting the development of our youth's creative side and causing to be less logical and more alike. Also school's need to support less consumer advertising and serve more healthy food to teach healthy habits to healthy brains so they can have healthy futures.

Another way to improve our schools success rate is to find better ways to deal with problem students than to just kick them out, especially when he or she is making the effort to show up for school. Students often make mistakes and that is why they are at school, to learn proper guidance, problem solving and social skills as well as the default curriculum. It's often when 'problem students' are kicked out that they become an actual problem to society by acquiring negative habits like drug use or criminal activities. Alternate action should be taken and no one should be kicked out under any circumstances.
Family
Families stick need to together more. Parents should be friends with their kids, there to guide them in a wise direction and support them with what they're child's dreams are. And if they kick their kid out (under the age of 19) then they have to report that they did with the reason why and possibly contribute support to their child until the child is finished all their schooling.
Public Transit
I guess the saying 'the city never sleeps' doesn't go for public transit. If elected, SkyTrains will be left on all night and public transit in Vancouver will be free.
Vancouver Represent
The people of Vancouver deserve the big goals I've set. It's sad the only time our city gets a real upgrade is when tourists are coming to town. Are our people not worth satisfying? The people of Vancouver love this town but unfortunately it appears our love isn't good enough. That's why when I'm elected, I will throw Vancouver's BIGGEST New Years Eve "Celebration in the Streets" with live local bands, performers, exhibitions, food and fun for the whole family. Something to really liven the spirits of our citizens and a way for us to Represent Who Vancouver's Made Of!
